PR

Propagation Resistivity

Deep formation evaluation. Real-time resistivity data.

The ALFA BWR Propagation Resistivity tool delivers multi-frequency, multi-spacing compensated resistivity measurements while drilling — providing detailed formation evaluation data that rivals wireline quality, in real time, without a trip out of hole. The BWR technology is the cornerstone of the ALFA LWD suite for formation evaluation and is available from 3 1/8" to 8" OD to cover the full range of well applications.

APR

Azimuthal Propagation Resistivity

Directional resistivity for precise geosteering.

The ALFA Azimuthal Propagation Resistivity BWRX is available in 3 1/8", 4 3/4", and 6 3/4" OD configurations. The BWRX uses 6 antennas for regular propagation resistivity measurements and a patent joint coil antenna for azimuthal resistivity measurements. For each data acquisition cycle, the BWRX can provide normal and directional resistivity measurements for bed boundary detection, helping our client proactively geosteer the well within the reservoir's sweet spot zone.

ADNP

Azimuthal Density / Neutron Porosity

Azimuthal density and porosity for formation characterization.

The ALFA BWN Neutron Azimuthal Density tool provides lithology and porosity measurements while drilling — delivering the key petrophysical data required for formation evaluation, reserve estimation, and completion design decisions. The BWN uses a low-energy Californium-252 radioactive source for the neutron measurement, which significantly reduces radiation hazard and conventional Cesium-137 sources for density measurements which simplifies source handling logistics and regulatory compliance.

SHDDS

Slim Hole Directional Drilling Solutions

Precision directional control in slim and restricted-diameter wellbores.

The ALFA Slim Hole Directional Drilling Solutions (SHDDS) platform delivers full directional drilling capability in reduced-diameter wellbores where conventional BHA sizes cannot operate. Engineered for slim hole programs, sidetrack operations, and cost-sensitive well designs, SHDDS integrates directional sensors, mud pulse telemetry, and steering control into a compact, high-performance assembly.

APWD

Annular Pressure While Drilling

Real-time annular pressure and ECD monitoring.

The ALFA Pressure While Drilling (PWD) Sub provides continuous, real-time measurement of bore and annular pressure, as well as 3-axis shock and vibration — delivering the downhole pressure intelligence needed to manage wellbore stability, optimize mud weight windows, and protect the BHA from damaging vibration events throughout the drilling operation.

NBS

Near Bit Sub

Formation data closer to the bit. Faster steering decisions.

The ALFA Near Bit System provides the bit measurements of Azimuthal Gamma Ray, Dynamic Inclination, Vibration, and bottom-hole RPM. Located directly above the drilling bit, the BWNB inclination and azimuthal gamma ray provide real-time measurements to eliminate drilling risks in a critical section of the wellbore.

DDS

Dynamic Detection Sub

Real-time downhole dynamics monitoring.

The ALFA Dynamic Detection Sub BWDDS is a small form factor, cost-effective sub that monitors and records the downhole drillstring dynamics, including 3-axis shock and vibration, RPM, Stick and Slips, Downhole Weight and Downhole Torque, Bending of Drill String, Bore Pressure and Annular Pressure, BHA Whirl, and Inclination while drilling. The BWDDS records low- and high-frequency data, which are available for post-run analysis to evaluate drilling system performance and thus provide valuable inputs for future well planning.

AI

Array Induction

Five depths of investigation. One precise formation picture.

The ALFA Array Induction (AI) tool delivers simultaneous multi-depth resistivity measurements in a single wireline pass, providing a complete picture of formation resistivity from shallow to deep investigation. Designed for water-based mud environments, the AI tool resolves invasion profiles, identifies fluid contacts, and characterizes reservoir boundaries with high vertical resolution. Its five depths of investigation — 10", 20", 30", 60", and 90" — enable accurate true-formation resistivity (Rt) determination and reliable saturation calculations, making it an essential tool for formation evaluation and well-to-well correlation.

HDLL

High Definition Array Laterolog

Eight depths of investigation. Unmatched resistivity in conductive mud.

The ALFA High-Definition Array Laterolog Resistivity Technology delivers precise true-formation resistivity measurements in thinly bedded and deeply invaded formations. Using five independent, actively focused, and resolution-matched resistivity measurements at multiple depths of investigation, ALFA provides detailed invasion profiling, enhanced thin-bed characterization, and reliable formation evaluation—even in complex geological environments.

OBMI

Oil-Based Mud Formation Imager

Full borehole coverage. Micro-resistivity imaging where water-based tools cannot operate.

The ALFA Oil-Based Mud Formation Imager is an advanced wireline solution designed to deliver high-resolution formation microresistivity images in non-conductive drilling environments. Engineered for fast logging speeds and operational efficiency, the tool enables detailed structural and sedimentological interpretation while providing a reliable, cost-effective alternative for formation imaging in oil-based mud systems.

DMRT

Density Micro Resistivity Tool

Dual-physics formation evaluation — density and micro-resistivity in a single wireline pass.

The ALFA Density–Microresistivity Tool delivers high-speed, high-resolution, depth-matched bulk-density and microresistivity measurements for enhanced formation evaluation. Its data can be seamlessly integrated with complementary technologies, including neutron-porosity tools, to create the ALFA Digital Xpress Platform (DXP)—a streamlined, multi-parameter logging solution designed to improve data quality, operational efficiency, and formation characterization.
